GENERAL FUNCTION

The PR Specialist is responsible for overseeing the global PR strategy, in partnership with our agencies, and ensuring that PR is a key component in our omni-channel strategy. Additionally, this role will help manage brand relationships with celebrities and/or social media influencers in partnership with our talent firm and brand marketing leadership.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Partner with brand marketing leadership to ensure that the global public relations agency has clear strategic priorities and direction, measurable KPIs, continuous feedback on performance, and access to key data.
  • Decide for the brand which press opportunities to pursue (short & long lead), inform key leadership team members when they need to get involved, and create key talking points for leadership team members.
  • Develop strong relationships on behalf of the brand with key partners (e.g. publications, bloggers, etc.) to establish and maintain relationships with media firms (e.g. publisher side) as well as the edit side (e.g. Vogue, Cosmo, Glamour, Google, etc.) in order to gain favorable opportunities for the brand.
  • Recommend to the leadership team who should represent the brand at key events such as Women’s Equality Day and International Women’s Day, then make the final decision regarding speakers & ensure flawless execution of the event.
  • Develop, manage and execute the seasonal PR campaigns (spring and fall) including PR strategy, PR releases, PR seeding kits, press events/consumer events and all PR materials related to our partnerships with celebrities and/or social media influencers.
  • Manage the day-to-day PR budget, including monthly updates with brand marketing leadership, finance and marketing to identify run rate, issues and options.
  • Lead the PR go-to-market process and ensure successful global adoption and greater consumer awareness of the brand.
  • Decide on which bloggers we will create deep relationships with and directly manage the communication with key bloggers.
  • Performs duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred, and 5+ years of omni-channel marketing experience, including experience with writing press releases, organizing and executing events (with agencies), crisis management, etc.
  • Consumer product experience required; experience in the footwear or apparel industry preferred.
  • Strong personal connections with fashion and understanding of millennial female consumer behaviors.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong project management skills, time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done while maintaining a great attitude.
  • Demonstrated comfort level with public speaking and presenting.
  • Must be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel throughout the US and globally.
