Expand Wolverine Worlwide’s Digital Product Creation approach by creating advanced 3D Footwear Model files and associated digital assets. These virtual footwear materials will be used for early concept review and direct transfer to overseas partner factories. 3D Footwear Models must convey all necessary aesthetic and technical details while following milestone calendar objectives. The 3D CAD Developer will maintain product integrity by collaborating with footwear design and development teams to incorporate all performance, comfort, and fit requirements. Provide effective project support by operating and maintaining applicable 2D/3D CAD software, 3D Printing and 3D Scanning equipment.
Identify, assess and develop working expertise of existing and new hardware/software for efficient 3D CAD capabilities. Research appropriate internet forums, articles, or webinars, and attend suitable user group meetings, seminars and training to discover and document Digital Product Creation best practices. Prepare information and reports that are insightful, user-focused, and foster innovation within the brands.
1. 3D CAD Engineering
a. Explore and recommend footwear construction methods, illustrate & prove footwear designs by creating 3D CAD models. This requires practical knowledge of common footwear manufacturing processes and technical engineering expertise.
b. Produce photorealistic rendered images using 3D footwear models.
c. 3D footwear model files will be fully prepared and ready for seamless 3D Printing.
d. Create Bill of Materials and product specification as needed.
e. Prepare and transfer 3D Tech Pack and associated data including 2D flattened footwear patterns to Asia Devleopment team and partner factories, as needed.
2. Molded Components
a. Create and revise accurate, manufacturable 3D models of molded upper components.
b. Interface with WWW PLM and PDM systems as primary file and data libraries, maintain accurate soling data by uploading latest 2D/3D files and associated documents.
c. Throughout the product creation process collaborate with footwear design, development, and engineering teams to review 2D/3D molded part design concepts and factory data to support manufacturability and product integrity.
d. Acts as subject matter expert on PML/PDM. Provides training on usage to other CAD developers, internal users and client groups.
3. 3D Lasts
a. Create and revise 3D Last model files by 3D Scanning physical lasts as needed, process 3D Point Cloud data using existing software to produce a usable 3D CAD last model.
b. Interface with WWW PLM and PDM systems as primary file and data libraries, maintain accurate Last data by uploading latest 3D files and associated documents.
c. Generate 3D Last comparison and measurement reports, 2D cross sections for Design use, and 3D Printed lasts as needed.
d. Perform duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
e. Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager.
