The Web Designer is responsible for concepting, designing and implementing all creative deliverables for the ecommerce businesses. This is a hands-on, multi-level role that includes strategy, creative exploration and execution. The Web Designer sets the design and interaction strategy, recommends and collaborates on creative direction, and manages the execution of concepts from ideation to launch. This role is responsible for planning and managing design calendars/timelines and work process.


This position requires a highly motivated and highly collaborative individual with a sharp attention to detail—someone who is not only an excellent web designer, but also a collaborative teammate who loves to inspire and innovate. The Web Designer reports to the Senior Director of Ecommerce.



  • Lead the concept development for ecommerce site updates, email, digital marketing collateral and special projects ensuring alignment with business goals of the creative brief as well ensuring a brand-right approach to aesthetic and appropriate levels of functionality.
  • Connect and partner with Brand Marketing and Brand Creative teams to leverage design assets, ensure cohesive brand communications and share ideas.
  • Ensure all web design projects are brand appropriate, and all marketing requirements are completed on time, and with the highest standard possible, for both internal and external reviews.
  • Partner closely with ecommerce merchandising, content planning and copy leads to continuously challenge the work to be as compelling and actionable as possible – with the strategic objectives always in mind.
  • Present and communicate creative strategy and design concepts effectively to business partners and senior leaders.
  • Optimize web graphics to ensure maximum download speed while maintaining high visual quality.
  • Work within Content Management System and design templates to make creative updates.
  • Balance numerous projects to meet ongoing tight deadlines.
  • Maintain organized archive of ongoing design projects for later reference.
  • Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.



  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and W3C standards.
  • Experience with web graphic optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with and ability to design for content management systems (CMS).
  • 3-5 years of web/digital design experience.
  • Ability to work and meet deadlines in fast pace environment.
  • Bachelors degree in design or equivalent work experience.
  • Mobile/Tablet design experience required.
  • eCommerce specific experience a plus.
  • Talented, hands-on leader; highly-conceptual thinker; and clear communicator.
