This position will play a critical role in developing integrated marketing strategies and plans for key wholesale accounts and DTC channels. Responsible for working closely with the Category marketing directors, Sales leadership, and internal stakeholders to develop account and channel specific campaigns designed to ensure that the brand is effectively represented and communicated to our end consumers. This position will have marketing responsibility over all wholesale channels of trade along with our DTC channels, with the goal of driving awareness & sales within those channels. This role will also work closely with the Sales team to develop key sales tools for our sales force in order to improve product sell-in and sell-thru at retail.

Primary Duties

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive Wholesale and Brand Marketing Strategy across all Wholesale channels, assisting to drive Year-over-Year sales increases.
  • Responsible for all marketing activity across all wholesale channels of trade. This includes strategy development, establishing relationships with key accounts and execution of brand and account-specific marketing plans and messages across multiple accounts.
  • Manage the Wholesale Marketing budget effectively and possess the skill set necessary to evaluate and manage spend across multiple accounts and initiatives resourcefully.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Target Consumer, Key Performance Indicators and Product Assortment for each account. Attain a deep understanding of the business needs and key strategies for each retailer in order to develop customized marketing programs.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including Category Marketing, Sales Team, and international teams to oversee the development and execution of impactful in-store programs including brand fixtures, shop-in-shops, seasonal POP, and in-store promotions.
  • Partner closely with our DTC team working as the brand liaison to ensure brand content is implemented to brand standards and executed to drive awareness and sales in all DTC channels including ecommerce, catalog, and all Merrell owned stores.
  • Manage all aspects of national tradeshows working cross-functionally with sales, product development, and brand marketing to tell clear, impactful brand and product stories.
  • Assist with the development and execution of Brand Conference meetings. Work cross-functionally with Category team, Product team, and Sales Ops teams to ensure that Brand Conferences both energize the sales force and provide the tools needed for product sell-in.
  • Performs duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 7+ years of trade marketing or retail marketing experience preferred. 3+ years in a management role.
  • Strong analytical, communication skills and presentation skills are highly preferred.
  • Must be well organized and have the ability to juggle numerous initiatives simultaneously.
  • A positive, proactive and can-do attitude is important.
  • Must be willing to roll-up sleeves and get involved in all brand projects.
