GENERAL FUNCTION

A Project Manager will coordinate all aspects of projects. Projects are likely to be at the corporate level and have impact across multiple business units.  The role requires excellent communication skills as its often interacting directly with leaders across the business.  Job responsibilities include high level project definition, development and planning, detail project plan development and review, project progression tracking, problem resolution and project implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as the leader on projects; coordinates resources, milestone schedules and related communication; responsible for delivery of assigned scope of work; responsible for leading an entire project or a major component of a project.
  • Manages multiple projects with medium complexity based on the needs of the organization.
  • Works closely with business management to determine business requirements and project scope.
  • Works closely with business team leaders to determine business resource requirements and to build project plans.
  • Responsible for coordination with project team of progress tracking, issue identification and resolution and progress reporting. 
  • Follows established methods, processes and techniques to complete project tasks.
  • Improve PM Skillset by seeking guidance from Senior PM leadership, implementing best practices and ongoing PM education.
  • Lead components of major projects under the direction of Senior Project Managers.
  • Provides mentorship to project team and supporting staff in project management methods and practices.
  • Maintains technical and business proficiency through a formal education process and work assignments.
  • Performing duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
  • Performing other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in conjunction with Project Management Certification (PMP)
  • 2-3 years project management experience, including leading at least two major projects of more than six months duration
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of corporate management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with external corporate partners.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of PM toolset which includes Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills; ability to operate as part of a team.
