GENERAL FUNCTION

This entry-level position will support U.S. and Canadian import and export activities (non-FTZ) to ensure compliance with U.S., Canadian and foreign customs laws and regulations as well as audit, maintain, and perform all activities associated with the Company’s import programs.

Primary Duties

  • Assist in preparing import/export documentation in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain export SharePoint site in order to perform accurate export AES filings.
  • Audit commercial documents prior to export AES filings.
  • Self-File entries in ABI.
  • Identify issues with incorrect documentation and follow process in order to correct.
  • Facilitate corrective action with freight carriers when problematic shipments arise.
  • Train colleagues and other WWW facilities on export SharePoint processes.
  • Support courier customs clearances for samples in conjunction with other team members.
  • Initiate correspondence with current US manufacturers to obtain correct NAFTA documentation.
  • Assist Classification Team with sending footwear to the lab for analysis.
  • Verify and reconcile import documentation against system of record (SAP).
  • Assist with ISA monthly audits.
  • Assist in updating the Company’s compliance policy and procedure manual.
  • Run reports on import and export trade data in ACE and various other resources in order to assist other team members with their assignments and objectives.
  • Assist in conducting pre/post auditing of broker entries.
  • Update and maintain critical data fields in SAP.
  • Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management.
  • 0-2 years or experience in trade compliance, Customhouse brokerage, or logistics.
  • Highly analytical and organized individual who has the ability to process details efficiently and accurately.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Office, Excel, Access, SharePoint).
  • Familiarity with SAP, ABI, Integration Point and GT Nexus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills and continuous improvement behaviors.
  • Must be proactive in recognizing and adjusting to shifting priorities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working as part of a team or alone.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and complete tasks in accordance with established deadlines.
