    The ReChaco Technician supports ReChaco Repair and Warranty and MyChaco custom footwear and accessory production in a wide range of areas including performing quality audits, shipping, receiving and repair and assembly work.  This position is a senior-level highly skilled position that performs assembly, sewing, repair, quality, inspection, and training/mentoring functions and is responsible for supervising a team of 4-10 Level I & II Technicians.

    Primary Duties

    • Proficient in performing all tasks and duties of a ReChaco Technician I, II, & III.  Cross-trained and proficient in all technical skills.  Stays proficient by performing all tasks on a regular basis.
    • Trains technicians in all tasks.
    • Oversees production processes and ensures standard operating procedures are followed.
    • Supervises and coaches a team of level I & II Technicians.
    • Provides performance management and feedback to employees.  Conducts annual performance appraisals.
    • Responsible for hazard assessment updates, chemical response, and safety.
    • Communicates clearly and concisely with coworkers.  Maintains organization system of order documentation throughout production process.
    • Holds team meetings and communicates team, business, and order level communication on an individual and group level.
    • Moves between workstations in order to maximize production flow.  Instructs lower level technicians when to move.
    • Responsible for training on quality procedures and ensuring technician quality compliance.
    • Responsible for training on safety procedures and ensuring technician safety compliance.
    • Expert at production processes. Recommends continuous improvement ideas.
    • Performing duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
    • Performing other duties as required/assigned by manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • 2+ years of experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environment required.
    • 1+ years apprenticeship in level III production task(s).  Must perform level III tasks at least 50% of time.
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
    • Attention to detail to ensure the safe and proper use of machinery and order accuracy.
    • Interpersonal skills supporting establishment of effective working relationships within the team.
    • Ability to mentor and train others.  Ability to hold individuals and team accountable.
    • Use of metrics to measure, track and communicate performance.
    • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and ability to distinguish color.
    • Dexterity for sewing and assembly tasks.
    • Cross-training in various activities to minimize repetitive motion.
    • Ability to read and precisely follow written standard operating procedures and safety instructions.
    • Ability to monitor production workflow and direct self and lower level resources to maximize production flow.
    • Must be able to work independently.  Takes ownership of team and areas of responsibility.
    WORKING CONDITIONS
    Factory and warehouse environment.  Ability to lift 50 pounds.
