    The HR Manager acts as the lead HR generalist for multiple assigned business units or functional groups within the organization.  The HR Manager is responsible for using HR expertise to shape advice and strategy to assist the business in achieving goals. The role serves as a consultant and service provider on key areas of talent management, performance management, change management, culture and employee relations.

    Primary Duties

    • Facilitate effective communications, lead through change and foster cultural progress.
    • Drive organizational alignment across business units or functional business groups.
    • Ensure compliance and alignment with federal, state and local laws and company HR policies and practices.
    • Act as an advisor to the leadership team in matters of employee relations, talent management, learning and development, culture, and talent acquisition.
    • Deliver business outcomes by advising the leadership team on HR best practices and acting as a role-model for the direct reports.
    • Make Wolverine an amazing place to work by creating a positive and engaging employee experience.
    • Develop a prominent talent pipeline through robust capability and competency development, resource and succession planning.
    • Develop strategic and long term talent initiatives that result in the attraction, selection and retention of talent across hourly and salary positions within the functional business units.
    • Responsible for identifying training needs and working in partnership with the Training team to design and implement impactful learning and development opportunities.
    • Develop human resource and business solutions by recommending courses of action. Utilize reports, networks, subject matter knowledge and best in class practices to formulate recommendations.
    • Responsible for implementing compensation and benefit programs specific to the assigned group.
    • Perform duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
    • Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience. HR generalist experience preferred.
    • Experience in managing direct reports.
    • Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage conflict and use good judgement.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. Strong relationship-building & team collaboration skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze business metrics and external business conditions.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
    • Desires a fast-paced, ever-changing, fun environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

       

      WORKING CONDITIONS

      Normal office environment.  Some domestic travel required.
