    This position manages the product development process for the assigned brand product team. Job responsibilities include a high level of process/timeline definition, as well as detailed planning of the day to day interaction between disciplines. Also responsible for ongoing team training following the Six Sigma principles with continuously evaluating best practices, process improvements, and efficiencies. The complexity and activity level of this function, requires close attention to the detail in process.

     

    Primary Duties

    • Responsible for Cross Category Product development animation/coordination.
    • Manages alignment of Marketing, Product Management, Design and Development and Sourcing throughout development seasons.
    • Owns Process Timelines and Milestone Meeting Orchestration.
    • Cross functional management between our 3 disciplines- Business, Design and Development
    • Plans meetings and creates agendas
    • Defines ownership and expectations following each milestone meeting
    • Develops RACI charts and facilitates follow through
    • Ensures decisions are made by team members in order to meet deadlines
    • Sets best practices and process improvements
    • Integrates PDM system into product development process and drives alignment between PD group and GOG group.
    • Integrates and oversees the usage of the PLM system within the brand development process.
    • Works closely with business management to determine business requirements and project scope on an ongoing basis.
    • Develops process and business proficiency through training, team dynamics understanding, and team building exercises.
    • Develops and implements process improvements around Six Sigma principles.  Continuously evaluating best practices, process, and efficiency improvements.  Trains others in Six Sigma principles.
    • Stays current on project management and continuous improvement process tools and philosophies.
    • Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
    • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in management, or equivalent work experience.
    • 7+ years of experience managing product creation processes.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of product creation team and corporate partners.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with external partners.
    • Ability to influence others without direct reporting relationships at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to perform effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to provide critical feedback, encourage and motivate others, and facilitate small to medium sized group meetings.  Ability to train and coach others on process improvements and tools.
    • Strong attention to detail and organization.  Excellent time management and project management skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.  Ability to learn PLM system, PDM system, Business Warehouse/SAP, and other company specific software programs.
    • Experience implementing and training Six Sigma or similarly recognized philosophy.

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    Normal office environment.  Some travel required.
