    The Planning and Allocation Manager develops financial merchandise sales and inventory plans that ensure corporate targets are achieved.  The role also leads a team of Allocation Analysts and an Associate Planner.

    Primary Duties

    1. Develop department/ class and key item forecasts that align with the Financial, Merchant and Marketing strategies of the division.
    2. Create and maintain OTBs including accurate forecasting of sales, inventory and receipt plans.
      1. Work closely with DTC Finance when goal setting and reforecasting for the division
    3. Partner with Merchants to ensure assortment supports merchandise plans (class mix, style count, depth of buys, size integrity, IMU etc.)
    4. Analyze weekly/monthly performance of sales, margin, inventory turns against plan and forecast.
    5. Develop strategies with Merchants to account for any variances in business trend vs. plan
      1. Ensure profitable liquidation of excess inventory position
      2. Forecast promotional impacts
    6. Manage and develop Associate Planner on all philosophical and technical aspects of the planning position.
    7. Partner with Merchant Team to conduct business reviews highlighting current business trends and opportunities.
      1. Identify and action on common risks and opportunities.
    8. Build and develop relationships with cross-functional business partners to achieve financial results for division.
      1. Presents analysis, findings and recommendations to team members and Senior Management
    9. Performing duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
    10. Performing other duties as required/assigned by manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressive experience in planning and replenishment in a multi-channel or multi-store retail environment required.
    • 2+ years of management or leadership experience.
    • Excellent analytical, math and organizational skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work with all levels of management
    • Strong Excel skills and knowledge of PC applications
