    Details product spec sheets to execute prototype samples in line with PLM seasonal calendars for the brand for both domestic and offshore production. Responsible for fit trials, wear testing and lab testing for the brand. Works collaboratively as part of our product development and commercialization process. Partners with leadership and various other functions to support the brand's product expansion across multiple new categories. A successful candidate should be innovative, driven and consumer focused as the Bates brand looks to expand their global footprint. This role will also assist with the evolution of product offerings, including new collections of apparel, bags and accessories, in addition to footwear.



    Primary Duties

    • Responsible for entry and maintenance of PLM support data (patterns, protos, colorways, etc.). Uploads all PLM data to support the development process.
    • Creates detailed product spec sheets for global sourcing partners to develop prototypes.
    • Reviews initial costing for any new product or spec changes to determine accuracy.
    • Responsible for all testing data (EN/CSA) including completion of required forms and coordination of the process.
    • Works directly with internal Wolverine Worldwide lab for any product testing required.
    • Creates and releases product spec changes as required. Identifies opportunities for improvement.
    • Maintains library of core materials for the brand including new material approval/CFM.
    • Creates and validates pattern names and descriptions for PLM, SAP and production labels.
    • Orders and maintains samples inventory for sales team.
    • Processes all PD memo bills and coordinates replacement of parts or components with factories.
    • Performing duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
    • Performing other duties as required/assigned by manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
    • 1-3 years product experience, preferably in the footwear or apparel industry.
    • Previous experience with SAP preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication.
    • Solid computer skills including MS Office Suite.
    • Well organized with strong attention to detail.
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
    • Ability to multitask effectively.
    • Analytical thinking with a continuous improvement mindset.


    Normal office environment.  Some travel required, both domestic and international.
