    The Associate Product Line Manager supports the Product Line Manager and/or Category Business Director in all areas of the product creation/development process inclusive of: business planning, concept/design, development, analysis and hand off to commercialization.  The Associate PLM plays a key role in supporting and driving category expansion.  Owns a segment of a product category.

    Primary Duties

    1. Manages a segment of a brand category.
    2. Establishes and maintains Line Planning Calendar.
    3. Manages product data and communication to ensure quality of samples compared to briefs. Manages the logistics of product data capture and logging from prototype stage through final stock number assignment.  Includes monitoring FOB, capturing changes, etc.  Coordinates Product Briefs and data between PD, Sales and Marketing.  Provides data to sales, marketing, and demand planning including reporting line logic and global carry-overs.
    4. Assembles duty codes with the Customs Compliance department in order to determine final cost of new product. Works with WWW sourcing team on duty throughout development process to ensure lowest duty charge possible.
    5. Expedites product data / changes to sourced facilities to ensure prototypes are first rate for ordering samples to be delivered to the sales force on time.
    6. Coordinates patterns with briefs, keeping project on-time with offshore partners. Monitors development timelines on prototypes for timely delivery of samples to sales force.  Works with PD to determine availability of sizes by pattern.
    7. Works with PD, Marketing, Sales, Consumer / Market Intelligence group to coordinate detailed assessments of competitive product and technologies.
    8. May help coordinate process for Special Make Up or Custom product initiatives (depending on brand size and size of custom business). Champions special projects.
    9. Presents the product to business partners with knowledge of the line matrix, key features and benefits.
    10. Manages PLM System. Assists with the writing of seasonal briefs, ensuring the accuracy of the information at brief level, updates and monitors target pricing.            
    11. Manages tech boards for marketing team.
    12. Works with the Global Operations Group to ensure quality issues are resolved and solution is implemented.
    13. Responsible for keeping product team on track to meet price targets.
    14. Performing duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
    15. Performing other duties as required/assigned by manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
    • 3+ years of footwear development, line management experience, or working in a business process.
    • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP. Ability to learn PLM and Business Warehouse systems.  Strong MS Excel skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
    • Confidence in decision making.
    • Strong time management, prioritization, and organization skills.
    • Knowledge of duty, quality issues and field testing.
    • Experience in product sales, marketing and/or retail is a plus.
    Normal office environment.  Travel required. Able to lift/carry 50lbs.
