    Wolverine World Wide (“WWW”) is seeking a Sr., Paralegal to join its in-house Legal Department. Under the supervision of WWW’s in-house attorneys and the Legal Department Manager, the Sr. Paralegal will support WWW’s Compliance Function, Contract Management, and Legal Department Operations. In addition to having broad ranging legal knowledge and skills, the successful candidate will have strong project management and organizational skills, the initiative to work independently in a fast-paced environment, a strong teamwork ethic, the ability to communicate at all levels, effective time management skills, and a detail-oriented approach. 

    Primary Duties

    1. Compliance
      • Develops and maintains an effective compliance program and structure
      • Drafts and updates applicable policies and procedures and implements internal controls to monitor compliance with such policies, procedures and applicable regulations
      • Periodically reports on the effectiveness and operation of the compliance program
      • Partners with the Learning Department to assist in the development and rollout of required training, including preparing training materials, facilitating participation as required, and keeping records related to company training
      • Oversees compliance and certification requests and monitors deadlines, renewals and related activities as well as content for the company’s compliance portal
      • Manages WWW’s Records Management Program including developing and maintaining record retention policies, controlling WWW’s physical records storage program including day-to-day record storage, archiving and retrieval, and administering of WWW’s records management software including the implementation of a new software solution


    1. Contract Management
    • Drafts, reviews, and negotiates various types of commercial contracts and other legal documents
    • Interprets the commercial and legal aspects of proposed transactions and advises business clients
    • Develops and maintains a contracts management system in partnership with internal and external stakeholders


    1. Legal Department Operations
    • Manages the Legal Department’s new and existing software and database programs, including without limitation file management, billing software, board of director’s software, and records management database
    • Develops and maintains various reports from these software and database programs based on department needs
    • Determines proactively the business needs of the Legal Department and provides a strategy to create effective solutions to leverage technology to efficiently solve problems


    1. Perform duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies
    2. Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Degree/Certification
    • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a paralegal or legal assistant
    • Previous law firm or in-house corporate legal experience.  In-house experience preferred
    • Exceptional organizational skills
    • Exceptional proofreading and written and verbal communication skills
    • Detail-oriented, self-starter, with strong project management skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
    • Proficiency with databases and ability to configure and support new software programs
    • Excellent judgment and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Complete discretion and confidentiality
    • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, with a strong work ethic
    • Fluency with the Microsoft Office Suite of products
    • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat DC and SharePoint
    • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
