    The Customer Relationship Manager will manage leather customer relationships for Wolverine Worldwide specifically, the New England accounts. This role Eensures consistent, profitable growth through actions plans to improve key metrics and deliver highest product integrity. Strengthen and build partnerships to ensure continued growth and success of Wolverine Worldwide Leathers.

     

    Primary Duties

    • Partner with the leather factory liaison to align production claims with sales to ensure quoted delivery dates meet or exceed customer needs and expectations.
    • Build strong relationships with designated pig skin factories and report all relevant information back to Wolverine Worldwide.
    • Contribute to the product development and financial inventory reporting.
    • Manage movement of leather reject and assist with dissolution of re-dye inventories.
    • Schedule regular visits to designated shoe factories in Maine and Massachusetts as well as other strategic geographies as identified by Wolverine Worldwide Leathers Executive Team.
    • Develop, grow and maintain a positive and effective business relationship with customers.
    • Assess, respond and report any major shoe factory claims to management along with proposed solution for settlements. 
    • Partner with assigned pig skin brands and shoe factories to attain forecasts.  Identify risks and opportunities to new and existing business and report the same to insure consistent and superior customer support.
    • Work in coordination with Operations Manager to oversee Travel and Townsend manufacturing facilities. 
    • Nurture and grow the largest customer account, New Balance.
    • Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
    • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or Marketing
    • 10 years’ experience in a Tannery setting with experience in production, customer service and sales
    • Strong knowledge of pig skin leather a plus
    • SATRA certification preferred
    • Experience working with shoe factories
    • Strong knowledge of leather making process
    • Results driven
    • Possess excellent negotiating skills
    • Ability to work under pressure

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Standard office environment.  Some travel required.
